 In Roscommon County you will find great fishing on all three  lakes in the county. Houghton Lake, Higgins Lake & Lake St. Helen offer a variety of species including; Lake Trout, Walleye, Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Perch, Crappie, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Northern Pike, Bluegill and more. 

 We encourage you to explore the wonderful parks we have in the Houghton Lake area.  There are great public beaches that include swimming, play ground equipment, barbecues and pavilions.   From fishing do  disc golf our local parks are sure to please. 

The Houghton Lake area has a wonderful range of opportunities for you to get out into nature. There's always an opportunity to view Northern Michigan wide range of wildlife along walking trails or at one of the area nature preserves! 

Roscommon County is ORV friendly and we are lucky to have some of Michigan's best ORV trails. Over 200 miles throughout the county two-track, twisty single-track, and soggy mud bogs for Jeeps, UTVs, dirt bikes & ATVs.
